updates An Update From The Orion Experience Hello Friends! You may be wondering whats going on with the Experience? Well…let me tell you! We recently finished a really cool video for our song “Nippon Ga Dai Suki” (Japan We Love You!), which many of you participated in! If you live in or near NYC, well be doing a special screening of the video this Friday July 24 at The White Rabbit bar (145 East Houston St. NYC 10002). Well be starting the screening at 8 pm and there will be snacks and refreshments served. If you don’t live in NYC don’t worry! We’ll be premiering our video on our website shortly. In other exciting news, weve begun work on The Orion Experiences sophomore record. The new record has a fresh, new sound and will feature disco strings, vintage synthesizers, and special guest appearances. Weve taken the summer off from playing live to focus on our new record, but do not fear! We have some great shows coming up at the end of the summer. Click here for dates! Next Wednesday Hi guys! The Orion Experience is filming a new video, and we want you to be in it!!! We are making a monster movie and need your help! We are shooting a rock club scene at the underground musical laboratory featuring a giant pink monster and also a scene in the street with people running from the giant pink monster. We are shooting on Monday April 13th in the afternoon at the White Rabbit Bar (145 E. Houston St. btwn Eldrige & Forsythe st.) next door to the Sunshine Theatre for the lab scene and on Tuesday April 14th during the day in a LES location TBA for the street scene. Extras must wear colors, not white. All are encouraged to create characters of all ages and have props, the most awesome will be featured. We wanted to take a moment before 2008 is just a memory to thank everything for sticking by us. This was a fantastic year for The Orion Experience and we have you to thank. Back in March Perez Hilton gave us a shout out saying our music was "better than cocaine" - and thanks to his wonderful words we were able to shoot a video for the song "Obsessed With You." Thanks to all the fans that made this song a YouTube success by creating their own versions of the video - we are Obsessed With You too! This year we played with some of the best bands in NYC including Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Nightmare of You, Davey La, Los Campesinos!, The Gay Blades, Jesse Malin, Band Of Thieves, Semi Precious Weapons, Alexa Ray Joel, and so many other hot acts we can't even name them all here (but if you go to our tour page you can see all of our past shows!) We're having the time of our lives touring and rest assured you will be seeing us on every stage from NYC to LA (maybe even the UK) in 2009. We would like to thank all the folks at K-Rock, Q104.3 and Sirius for featuring our songs. And of course we would be nothing without Audrina and Lauren Conrad - thanks for making us part of your playlists and don't you worry - the DVR is set to record The Hills every week! Our first show of 2009 will be in the Garden state at Maxwells in Hoboken NJ on Friday, January 17th. It's ALL AGES and we'll be playing with our favorite Long Island friends Nightmare of You.
