new cover, oxygen, transports you to a magical, dreamlike place

OXYGEN, the new single from The Orion Experience’s upcoming album Cosmicovers, is a surreal trip into a dreamlike, cinematic landscape. When lead singer songwriter Orion Simprini first heard the song Oxygen, originally written by Pop-Punk wunderkind Lili Trifilio (Beach Bunny), he could immediately hear the roots of a achingly beautiful love song. Visions of an enchanted forest entered his mind, a dreamlike place where the air is cool, the anxieties of our modern world are swept away on an autumn breeze, and suddenly everything is easy. Orion knew that this song would require a different production approach to capture this magical place, so he called on his longtime friend and composer Erik Paparozzi (Cat Power, Neil Hamburger). Erik set to work writing an orchestral arrangement that would be at home in any of the classic romance films of the 1960’s. Adding an equally lush vocal performance, Orion and cowriter Linda XO conjured their musical theatre roots to capture the emotional weight of the song. The result is a memory from another place and time, filtered through the haze of Technicolor film grain in a dark theatre. “Cause with you, with you I breathe again. Baby you’re my oxygen.”

Oxygen is out now on all digital platforms.
